Questions for your course preparation
1. Course type
What kind of course do you want to create?
- Self-study course
- guided / accompanied course
- Mini-course as a freebie
- Online conference where the videos are only available for a limited period of time
- Course with accompanying webinar
Video about it:
Depending on the type of course, the following questions arise.
2. Course start
Do all participants start at the same time or successively depending on the payment date?
- all at the same time -> set the access time to "from date" and select the date and time.
- successively -> set the access time to "from payment."
Important: You can not change this setting once someone has bought the course. So choose this setting consciously.
3. Pricing model and right of withdrawal
Should the course be paid in one fell swoop in different amounts?
You have the option
- to design your course as a subscription (unlimited or limited to a certain number of installments) so that your participants can pay in different installments. However, with a subscription, you also have the option of completing it yourself and leaving the course.
- to offer your course as an installment payment product. When paying in installments, the installments are fixed in advance and the customer undertakes to pay them.

Which right of withdrawal would you like to grant?
We offer various options for the right of withdrawal. The default setting is "I agree and expressly request that the commissioned service should begin before the cancellation period has expired. I am aware that my right of withdrawal expires if the contract is fully fulfilled." However, you can also grant a right of withdrawal for up to 60 days. If you work with an affiliate program, a long right of withdrawal can lead to undesirable effects for your publishers.

4. Visibility of the pages and sending of emails for new lessons
Should the content of all pages be visible in one fell swoop or step by step?
You can set the individual pages so that all pages are immediately visible when the participant views the course. You do not need to make any changes to the settings for the so-called drip-in, as the pages are assigned the course drip-in when they are created.
If you want the page contents to be visible step by step (e.g. for guided courses), you can define a so-called drip-in for each page.
You can define that module, for example, only be visible after a week. Depending on how you have set the access time, you can set a fixed date (when setting "from date") or the number of days (when setting "from payment"). The days always refer to the course drip-in. Enter 7 days for one week after the course has started, and 14 for 2 weeks after the course has started.
This is how the course step by step builds up. -> Instructions
If you use the quiz, you can even choose not to see the next page until the participant has answered the quiz questions correctly. -> Instructions
And you can provide a time when certain lessons should no longer be visible via the drop-out.
Would you like to send emails about the individual lessons via elopage?
If so, then set your text and the time of sending on the individual pages in the E-mail tab and activate the sending.

5. Video integration
Watch videos directly in the course
You can upload the videos directly to our partner Wistia using our video app, in compliance with the GDPR. To do this, you need our "Video" app and can upload it directly via the editor.
We have concluded an order processing contract with Wistia, so that this is GDPR-compliant. The videos can only be viewed in the course.
If you have the videos on YouTube or Vimeo, you can integrate them using a link or iFrame code. Check beforehand whether and how these are protected from unauthorized disclosure.
Offer videos for download
If you want to upload videos that your participants should later download to their computer, don't underestimate the time it takes to upload them. A video of 1.5 hours can take 5 hours (with us as well as with YouTube, if you update it).
However, your participants need less time to download (depending on the line speed), since the speed for downloading is much higher with most providers than for uploading. -> Instructions
6. Interaction with participants
Would you like the participants to see how much % of the course they have already completed?
If so, use dynamic pages in your course (static page = no). The participants can then mark the individual pages as "done" -> Instructions for page type.
You can see each participant in the order details -> See instructions for the lesson which lessons he has already completed.
With our new analysis dashboard, you can also see how intensively your courses are being used.
Ask questions about the content / learning progress control
If you would like to ask a few questions about the content after a lesson and join a quiz, use dynamic pages here too and create your questions. -> Instructions for the quiz
Do you want participants to be informed when you make changes to the content of the pages that have already been marked as completed?
If so, use dynamic pages in your course (static page = no).-> Instructions
Interaction with participants
How do you interact with the participants? Do you have a Facebook group or can the participants exchange ideas with you and other participants directly in the course?
You can decide for each lesson whether you want to have the comment function activated (default) or not, or whether you create your own area for the exchange in the course.
7. Sales pages for your course
Should your course be bought from your elopage shop or only from where you have linked it?
If you publish your course with the default settings, it will be found by the search engines and can be bought by anyone who comes to your elopage page.
However, if you only want to make the course available to a certain group of people, e.g. from your email list or a Facebook group, then set it to private. -> Instructions
8. Award for successful participation
After completing your online course, you can automatically "Hand over" an >>award to your participants. Each of your elopage products can be delivered automatically and free of charge as an award. In this way you create real added value for your customers and intensify your customer loyalty. A final certificate is indispensable, especially for professionally relevant and professional training courses and further education. To do this, simply create the >>certificate as a product and set its automatic delivery following successful participation. If you work with official document templates, you can upload them as a background and define and place the required auto-fill fields (e.g. name and address) in a custom manner.
