If you select "Sofort" as the payment method, the customer will first be redirected to the sofort.com website and, after entering their bank details, to online banking.
Sofort monitors if the payment has been made and tells us immediately after the TAN has been entered and accepted that the payment has been made. As a result, the transfer is immediately displayed as successful on your dashboard and the product is delivered.
If the payment is not completed, it remains in the waiting for finalization status until the payment has been completed.
The payment itself is then carried out as normal and we will receive it a few days later.
- The customer selects Sofort and clicks on "Buy now."
- The customer is redirected to a page on Sofort.com, which technically monitors whether the payment has been made.
- The customer enters the bank code and BIC at Sofort.com and is forwarded directly to the online banking of his own bank.
- There he logs in with the login data for his online banking and starts the transfer process. Everything is already pre-filled here, so that he does not have to provide any recipient data.
Important: Since our cooperation bank has a French IBAN, its online banking must be activated for EU transfers. We also give the customer information about this before making a purchase. - He confirms the payment by entering the TAN.
- As soon as the payment has been sent and the TAN has been confirmed, we will receive a message that the payment has been made.
- The purchase confirmation email is then sent directly to the customer and information about the payment has been made to you as the seller, even if the money is still on the way. This means that your customer immediately receives access to, or information about, the product.
Please note:
If the payment is not completed, e.g. because the account is not activated for payments to the EU, the TAN is incorrect or was entered too late, no payment is made and the status does not change to "successful," but the status is "waiting for finalization."
The transfer is then displayed in the list of payments waiting for finalization, which expires after a few days without change and is then hidden again.
You can use the list to check whether the customer bought the product using a different payment method and, if necessary, contact them to find out why the purchase was not made and, if necessary, help them.
