Is your customer's SEPA direct debit en route with the status but not yet successful and should it be stopped or canceled?
The technology for SEPA direct debits is regulated uniformly across Europe, so this is not easily possible.
Stopping a direct debit
A SEPA direct debit that has not yet been marked as successful can only be canceled on the day on which the direct debit was created. After that, the direct debit is already on the way to the bank and is presented there.
Canceling a direct debit
A repayment of the SEPA direct debit is possible at the earliest 7 days after it has been successfully deposited with us.
We only receive feedback as to whether the direct debit has been redeemed 6, sometimes 14 days after the initiation of the direct debit, i.e. long after your customers see it ready on their account. So ask your customers not to return the direct debit, as this will result in fees of 7.50 euros net, which the customers' bank will pass on to you.
