Use
With the product type "Keys / Codes,"
- you can create and sell product or license codes used for verification in external systems
- Sell bulk access (coupon codes) for your products on elopage.
You provide these keys and codes in your product and the corresponding keys and codes are delivered in the purchase confirmation email with every purchase. You provide an allotment of any size and your customer decides how many of your keys he buys.
Various use cases are conceivable here, such as
- software licenses or product keys, so that the software that your customer installs is only activated with the license key
- vouchers that can then be used to purchase elopage products
- access licenses (bulk access) for your online courses or memberships that companies can distribute to employees. The company therefore buys a certain number of accesses and receives a coupon code for an elopage product for each access.
- Any kind of codes for sale
Requirements
Available in all packages - no separate booking necessary
If the codes are to be usable for the discounted / free purchase of elopage products, you need the marketing feature coupon codes. There you create the coupon codes in advance and then provide them as a code in this product.

Step-by-step instructions
Create codes as a product
- In the seller account, go to Products and click on "Create"
- Select the product type "Keys / Codes."
As usual, you will then see the tabs with the various configuration steps. Except for the Codes tab, these are identical to the other product types.
Therefore, in this article we will only go into the special features of codes.
Important!
- Name the product appropriately, because the product name will be visible to your customer.
- If you want to sell coupon codes for your elopage products, create these codes beforehand under Marketing --> Coupon codes.
Only then can your customer redeem the codes for your products at elopage. They will be incorporated into the code product later. How to configure coupon codes for elopage products. - The same tax template is stored for this product type as for online courses and download products, i.e. the tax always refers to the country of the buyer and the MOSS procedure applies here.
If the coupon code is for a digital product through which you are selling something that is subject to different tax regulations (e.g. a physical book), then please create your own tax template and enter it there - if necessary in coordination with your tax consultant enter the correct tax rates for each country and type of buyer and provide this with the product.
Allow multiple orders
Should this product be able to be bought more than once by a customer (e.g. several licenses, several coupon codes for an online course / membership, then
- scroll down to "More Options"
- set the switcher for "Allow multiple orders" to the right and
- enter the number of items that can be bought at once.
Your customer can then select the number of pieces on the checkout page and will receive a code for each piece.
Creating codes
You can provide the corresponding codes in the Codes tab.
You can
- manually create or import the codes
- have us automatically create the codes upon delivery and then have them entered as a license key in your software, for example.

Create code manually
Codes for external systems are created here manually. You can:
- Manually insert codes generated by your system into the field (separated by a comma and blank line) or
- click "Generate codes" to create codes.
This window will then open.
Here you can determine how many codes should be created in total. If you want to deliver code to a large audience, make sure you create enough codes.
You can also determine the format of the code. For example, choose a prefix like MYSOFTWARE and add random numbers or letters to it. Special characters such as hyphens are also possible.
The code generation parameters
- %{alphanumeric_X} - alphanumeric addition = Numbers and letters, instead of X please enter the number of digits that should be added.
- %{numeric_X} - numerical addition = numbers, instead of X please enter the number of digits to be added.
- %{alphabetic_X} alphabetical addition = letters, instead of X please enter the number of digits to be added.
MYSOFTWARE-%{alphanumeric_3}-%{numeric_2} then, for example, becomes the code"MYSOFTWARE-AF6-58".
Incorporate coupon codes for products created by elopage
To do this, you create the coupon codes beforehand under Marketing --> Coupon codes, e.g. as a bulk coupon code, and define for which products / pricing plans etc. they apply, how often individual codes can be used and of course what discount they grant for your products created at elopage.
If creating manually, click "Insert from coupon codes."
This window will open with a list of your existing coupon codes:
Here you can select coupon codes that you have created via Marketing --> Coupon codes. All settings such as value, limit or which product they apply to are adopted.
- Use filters and search to only see the relevant codes.
- Click on "Add" and the codes will appear in the field.

- The price of your codes that you set is per piece
The product gives you maximum control and flexibility. You determine access to your products and make it easy for your customers to buy as many accesses for themselves and others as they need.
